About Us

Rotary Club of Guwahati Metro was chartered on 15th November 2016. The present strength of the Club is 13. Since then the Club has taken up remarkable projects under various Service Avenues Some of the major projects undertaken are as followsIntroduction The Rotary Club of Guwahati City has been actively involved in a range of social projects aimed at uplifting the community and addressing various social needs. This report summarizes the key initiatives undertaken by the club, showcasing our commitment to service and community development. KEY ACTIVITIES 1. Distribution of Artificial Limbs Objective : To support individuals in need with mobility aids. Details : Provided artificial limbs to a local carpenter, enhancing his ability to work and support his family. 2. Dandiya Night Fundraiser Objective: To raise funds for various community projects. Outcome: Successfully organized a cultural night, fostering community spirit while raising funds for future initiatives. 3. Food Distribution to Flood Victims in Nalbari Objective: To provide relief to flood-affected families in remote villages. Details: Collaborated with the District Commissioner (DC) to distribute food supplies, aiding those in urgent need. 4. Planting of 2,000 Saplings Objective : To promote environmental sustainability. Details: Successfully planted 2,000 saplings to enhance greenery and combat climate change. 5. Distribution of Essential Supplies Items Distributed: Beds, gloves, masks, and oximeters Objective : To support community health and well-being. 6. Hosting District Events - Events: TRF Events, Awards Night, etc. Objective: To engage with other Rotarians and recognize outstanding contributions within the community. 7. Food Distribution Throughout the Year Objective: To address food insecurity among needy populations. Details : Conducted series of food distribution drives, consistently aiding those in need. 8. Distribution of Sanitary Pads in Manipur Objective: To promote menstrual hygiene and health awareness. Details: Distributed 5,000 sanitary pads, contributing to the health and dignity of women. 9. Donation of Bio Toilets Objective: To improve sanitation in schools. Details: Donated 4 sets of bio toilets at Azara School, enhancing hygiene facilities for students. 10. Water Filtration Plant Assembly at Dhirenpara High School. Objective: To ensure access to clean drinking water for students. Outcome: Successfully assembled a filtration plant, improving health and safety. 11. Setting Up a Library at Navjug LP School, Guwahati. Objective: To foster education and literacy. Outcome: Established a library to provide students with access to books and learning resources. 12. Sponsoring Rotaract Club of Royal Global University Objective: To engage youth in community service. Details: Supported the Rotaract Club in organizing their initiatives, promoting leadership and service among young adults. Conclusion The Rotary Club of Guwahati City remains dedicated to making a positive impact on the community through various initiatives aimed at health, education, and environmental sustainability.
