Three Renovated Classrooms Community Service

Three Renovated Classrooms

The Club successfully completed and inaugurated the renovation of three classrooms at L.O.G. Hindi High School. The project was generously sponsored by Rtn Vijay Kumar Jasrasaria with a contribution of ₹6.50 Lakhs. The complete renovation work included painting, installation of new doors and windows, classroom furniture, and blackboards. The upgraded classrooms will provide a safe, modern, and conducive learning environment for the students. Impact: The school presently has a student strength of 300+, and the improved infrastructure will enable enrollment of more students in the future. This project reflects Rotary’s continued commitment to quality education and community development. The renovated classrooms were formally handed over to the school management.

Health & Eye Check up camp Community Service

Health & Eye Check up camp

The camp provided facilities for eye examination, diabetes screening, blood pressure check-up, and medical consultation by specialist doctors of GNRC Hospitals and ERC Eye Care. A team of specialists examined a total of 33 patients and provided necessary medical consultation. Additionally, 25 people underwent eye screening, out of which 5 patients were identified for cataract surgery. Free spectacles were also distributed to the needy.

Rotary Swasthya Sewa

Project Background & Need Assessment Post discharged from hospitals; many patients require continued medical care at home. However, due to financial constraints, several families are unable to afford essential patient care accessories such as wheelchairs, hospital beds, oxygen support systems, and monitoring devices. The lack of access to such equipment often delays recovery and affects the dignity and quality of life of patients. To bridge this critical gap, Rotary Club of Guwahati Metro has initiated a Patient Care Accessories Bank. Under this project, essential medical equipment will be provided to needy patients on a free-of-cost loan basis for home care, ensuring timely support and dignified recovery.

Pink Toilets Community Service

Pink Toilets

Project Description: The Club in association with NR under its CSR initiative, inaugurated a dedicated “Pink Toilet” for female students and women staff at Arya Vidyapeeth College, Guwahati, on 30 May 2026. The facility has been designed to promote menstrual hygiene, privacy, safety, and dignity for women. The Pink Toilet is equipped with sanitary pad vending machines, continuous running water facilities, and hygiene awareness posters in Assamese to encourage healthy sanitation practice.

Chicken & Egg Pushcarts Project Community Service

Chicken & Egg Pushcarts Project

The Chicken & Egg Pushcart Project, undertaken in association with the Egg Co-ordination Committee and District 3240, is designed to create sustainable self-employment opportunities for underprivileged youth and women. Each pushcart, costing ₹50,000, is fully equipped with 17 essential utensils to support small-scale business operations. The Club identified deserving beneficiaries at Amingaon RCC and distributed 10 pushcarts to empower them towards financial independence.

Plantation and ID celebration at SHED

The Club has celebrated the 79th Independence Day with a Flag Hoisting Ceremony at the Society for Health and Educational Development (SHED), Digaru, Sonapur, Assam. The event witnessed the participation of enthusiastic school children, staff, and club members. As part of the celebration, the club distributed snacks, chocolates, and fruits to the children of SHED, spreading joy and warmth. In line with Rotary’s commitment to environmental sustainability, members planted 11 plants and saplings to promote greenery. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation with 13 Rotarians, 2 Rotary Anns, one in-law, and two little grandsons of Rotarians joining the occasion, making it a memorable family-oriented celebration.

Free Mega Health checkup camp

On the 9th and 10th of this month, Rotary Club of Guwahati Metro has organised MEGA HEALTH CHECK UP CAMP at the premises of Trusses and Towers Pvt Ltd., Hajo Road, opp.saraighat High school, Amingaon, Guwahati. The MEDICAL TEST followed by ECG, X RAY, BLOOD TEST, GENERAL MEDICINE, DENTAL TEST AND EYE TEST. The necessary medicines along with Spectacles, etc. also provided if necessary. Almost 600+ beneficiary able to take the facility of the Camp.
